The Outback has the same chassis as the Legacy. Nothing is aletred.Differences are in ride height (due to the beefed up suspension, exterior differences (grill, bumpers, headlights, taillights, new colors, body side moldings), taller roof and they are 1 shorter overall than the Legacy.The reason that Subaru dropped the Legacy wagon is because they are so ESSENTIALLY similar to the Outback. In Japan and Europe, our N. American Outback is called the Legacy Outback.
